Can we forget walking?
May 2, 2008When did you first start walking? Most probably when you were around a year old. Medical science confirms that, kids should kind of start walking, crawling or whatever you want to call it, by the end of their first year. From that moment you kept walking, walking and walking. On the way, you learnt to run, jog and other various ways. In all these, you had a different pace, but it was just walk, pure walk nothing else.
All these times in your life, you have been walking. Through all successes and failures, through good times and bad times and the worst times. There would have been times when you wanted to stop, sit down, think or just go back. There would have been times when you were forced to do so. All these times, what motivated you to get back and get moving? I bet it was something different every time, something special. The reasons you must have attributed the utter zeal to keep walking, keep moving would have varied but there would be one central idea in everyone of them. Have you ever thought about it ?
It was during one such motions, when my ideas and my desires had no outlets. I wanted to do things, without knowing how to do them. There was no avail to my efforts to do something about it. Finally I had no choice but to stop and think again. And I got the idea,”Can we forget Walking?”. If we do not forget it, then why do we fail to keep walking? And it was that special question which changes moments and ages. I went about looking for answers, and then I found it. No, we can’t.
We can fall, we can fail, but we can’t forget walking. Walking is not just a mere physical phenomena, its much more than that. It is a purpose and the means. It is the ultimate idea for which we are here, to keep walking.

What is the central idea behind walking? Why do we walk? We walk on the path to reach somewhere. Walking is the means and the end, you say. True. But, the problem is that we perveive walking only as the means. When, we meet walking – the end, then we walk no more. We stop forever because we have reached the end. When we get back to walking – the means, we start walking again.
When we reach the end, the process continues. Walking continues. Just that its not we who are doing it! When you loose yourself(immerse yourself) completely into walking, you reach walking – the end. You then exist no more. Just the walking continues!
Hope it made sense to you
